Butler City FD still has broken ladder truck; no plan to fix it
August 2, 2017
The Butler City Fire Department is still fighting with several city leaders, including Mayor Tom Donaldson. They want to get their ladder truck fixed or replaced, but the city is refusing to assist in the funding of a repair or even a new truck, considering the age of the current one.
As of right now, Butler City residents must rely on the volunteers from Butler Township, Saxonburg, Adams Township, and Chicora if they need a nearby ladder truck. Months ago Butler Dispatch reported about the ladder truck being “bent and unusable.
Several city firefighters have stated this could be deadly if a nearby mural aid department cannot respond with their ladder truck.
