Knoch still shows lead in water after expensive maintenance

Knoch High School

After the South Butler County School District spent thousands of tax-payers money on attempting to repair all the water outlets that tested positive for high lead and copper, five water sites are still showing up positive. They are above the states allowed limit, so immediate action needs taken care of.

The first round of testing showed 38 water sources were too high in the schools. The contractor replaced all 38 water outlets, and a second test conducted showed 11 outlets were still too high. This third test shows five sites are still at unsafe drinking levels.

Due to budget concerns, the contractor will propose another quote to finalize the final five outlets. This includes replacing old pipes, upgrade of filtration equipment, or additional testing. The school did not release where the final five outlets are located.
