New traffic flow program starts today in Cranberry Township
October 2, 2017
CRANBERRY TWP, Pa (Butler Dispatch) – Motorists traveling near and through Cranberry Township likely are stopped by multiple traffic lights throughout their commute. Starting today at 7am – new traffic flow patterns started to help optimize the flow of traffic.
This includes the changing of several pattern times, and signal duration throughout Route 19, Route 228, and Freedom Road. These new traffic patterns have been optimized by several engineers who believe they can help the flow of traffic during morning and afternoon commutes.
All traffic lights will be synced and “talk” to one another, to help increase the safety of motorists. In addition to all of this, the “all-red” signal will last longer to help prevent a collision. “All-red” means when all directions stay red, to clear the intersection before a direction of traffic is given the green signal.
