BUTLER, Pa. – It will only cost the school over $450,000 to replace the football field turf at the Butler Area School District football stadium. The current field is around 12-years-old, and has exceeded the life expectancy according to the school.
A-Turf was the chosen company to replace the field. The field will be a rubber-based field type material, instead of natural turf like most schools.
The field will come with a 10-year-warranty, along with all licenses and additional costs.
Taxpayers were griping about the payment for the field, so the school will pull the cost from the bond issue. The field will be ready for band camp this year.
