Sources tell Butler Dispatch that Gearhart started her career as a nurse at the Grove City Medical Center. After working at the medical center as a registered nurse, she decided to start into trauma and switched careers into EMS.

It was just until recently that Gearhart decided to switched to air medical services, and decided to join the flight crew as a flight nurse.

Tomorrow, Sunday, was going to be Gearhart’s first scheduled day at the Grove City Airport.

Sources tell Butler Dispatch that Gearhart had just dropped lunch off at the state police barracks for a trooper she was dating. She left the barracks with her 6 and 8-year-old daughters. Both were safe during the crash as they were restrained.

Moments after leaving the state police barracks she was involved in a head-on crash.
