Breaking Fire Calls

Truck crashes into creek near Zelienople

JACKSON TOWNSHIP. Pa. – Police say a 45-year-old man crashed a truck they believe he was driving and then took off in the woods. They are unsure if he is injured or not.

Early this morning, police officers had to “ping” the man’s cell phone to determine roughly where he was. Police use a program called “Stingray” which can intercept cell phone information, along with triangular location. Triangular location pings the nearest 3 cell phone towers and can give a rough area of 1/10th of a mile up to a 3-mile radius.

According to sources, they believe the man was driving his truck and then took off in the woods. They confirmed he does own the truck and does live near woods just west of Route 19.

Firefighters arrived on-scene to find the driver door opened, but no driver nearby.

The crash happened around Zelienople and Muntz Run Road, near Glade Run Adventures at the Beaver/Butler counties line.
