Name released in fatal Butler Township crash

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A Chicora man was killed in a single-car crash along Delwood Road in Butler Township on May 22nd, 2018.

Police say 36-year-old Donald Stewart, of Chicora, crashed shortly after noon along the roadway. Officers said Stewart hit a pine tree head-on, after he crossed the center of the roadway.

First-responders extricated the man from the vehicle, but due to his serious injuries, he died at Butler Memorial Hospital. They could not comment on if blunt force trauma was a cause of his death or not.

It is unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt or was distracted while driving. Police are still investigating the news.

BREAKING: Man killed in Butler Township crash

Man killed in Delwood Road crash

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A man was fatally injured as a result of a single-vehicle car crash along Delwood Road in Butler Township.

Originally, crews responded to the area from Mercer Road station 6 and East Butler VFD station 9. The crash had been reported to occur just north of the 422 overpass along the railroad tracks.

The accident was called into Butler County 911 at 12:19 PM today.

The coroner was on-scene, but no names or details could be released by township officers.

BREAKING: Conviction in Cranberry Twp armed robbery shooting

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A federal jury had convicted 2 Allegheny County men in a armed-robbery which left 1 person shot.

If you happened to remember, in August 2017 a house was robbed by a supposed “buyer” from the app, LetGo. In turn, this was an alleged drug deal gone bad.

Police say Kahlil Shelton and Deron Howell will be sentenced in the fall of 2018 for their role in the crime.

This incident occurred on Marshall Drive in Cranberry Township.

Route 68 under major construction till July

BUTLER TOWNSHIP,Pa. – Our reporter was at the scene yesterday around the Evans City Road and Duffy Road intersection.

Construction crews will be working night shift for a few more nights between 6:30 PM and 4:00 AM.

According to the foreman at Wilson Excavation, Pennsylvania American Water contracted them to replace a 12-inch main water line underneath Evans City Road.

The daylight crew will start to work late this week, so expect some delays.

STAT MedEvac required in McConnells Mill rescue

SLIPPERY ROCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Every year, visitors at the historic landmark of McConnells Mill State Park there are rescues and recoveries. Luckily, last night a woman became a rescue and not a recovery operation.

Authorities say a woman in her 30’s fell near Kildoo Falls within the state park last evening. Police say she fell between 25 and 35 feet over a hillside.

STAT MedEvac flew the woman to UPMC Presby in Pittsburgh.

Nearby witnesses stated they could hear screams right after the incident, so multiple people dialed 911.

PAW to shut off water in Butler and Center Townships

BUTLER. Pa – No worries here, the Pennsylvania American Water is planning a main-line shutoff for several large neighborhoods and businesses in the region.

The lines are going to be shut off to complete necessary maintenance.

The one line will be turned off on South Duffy Road at Stanley Avenue.

The other line will be across from the Clearviw Mall, according to reports.

These 2 projects will cost over $500,000 to replace the pipes.

Tanker truck slams into car on Route 8; adult flown by helicopter

Update: Police said the tanker driver was at fault. The tanker driver, Shawn Kepple, 30 of Manorville, rolled his tanker onto a Camaro which nearly crushed the Camero driver, Kevin Koontz, 46 of Mars.

PENN TOWNSHIP, Pa. An adult and 2 children hit injured when a tanker truck slammed into their vehicle and ran it over on Route 8 South at Dinnerbell Road, in Penn Township.

Police crews assisted in traffic control while fire units responded. Crews from Penn Township VFD, Penn Township Police, Butler Ambulance Service, and LifeFlight (Allegheny Health Network).

LifeFlight 2 is scheduled to land at Butler Airport to transport the male victim. Originally, the male complained of chest injuries but it was determined he needed to be flown to AGH immediately for treatment.

You can expect delays in this area for several more hours.

The children reportedly had minor injuries.
