A deadline-crunch has been extended gracefully for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and it’s residents for the Real ID act. Before, on January 1st, no Pennsylvania resident would be able to board a commercial flight or enter a federal building without a Real ID compliant card or passport. The government has extended this date till January 22nd.
Residents can pay extra for a Real ID in addition to the license registration fee. Or, residents are encouraged to apply for a Passport which allows for travel outside of the United States for just a little bit more money.
Starting on January 23rd, if you do not have a Real ID card or passport, you will be grounded from all flights in general.
